چکیده

Tissue engineering can be easily described as the in vitro seeding and attachment of human cells onto a scaffold in order to develop new tissue. The application of polymers as scaffolds may bring interesting properties, such as bioresorbability, biocompatibility, mechanical behavior closer to that presented by the original tissue. Poly (Lactic-coGlycolic Acid) (PLGA) and Poly(Isoprene) (PI) were blended and conformed as fibers for this purpose. Was observed that both blending and dripping techniques have no major influence over material's chemical structures, with no residual solvents presented. For the blend in this proportion, PLGA and PI showed a partial miscibility. In the biological analysis, the material presented an increase in population after 14 days, being recommendable a further investigations for its application in biomedical field.

Analysis of Poly(Lactic-co-Glycolic Acid)/Poly(Isoprene) Polymeric Blend for Application as Biomaterial

The application of renewable raw materials encourages research in the biopolymers area. The Poly(Lacticco-Glycolic Acid)/Poly(Isoprene) (PLGA/IR) blend combines biocompatibility for application in the health field with excellent mechanical properties. The blend was obtained by solubilization of polymers in organic solvents. To investigate the polymer thermochemical properties, FTIR and DSC were...

In vitro evaluation of poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid)/polyisoprene fibers for soft tissue engineering.

The polymeric blend of poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) and polyisoprene (PI) has recently been explored for application as stents for tracheal stenosis and spring for the treatment of craniosynostosis. From the positive results presented in other biomedical applications comes the possibility of investigating the application of this material as scaffold for tissue engineering (TE), acquiri...

Hollow fibers of poly(lactide-co-glycolide) and poly(ε-caprolactone) blends for vascular tissue engineering applications.

At present the manufacture of small-diameter blood vessels is one of the main challenges in the field of vascular tissue engineering. Currently available vascular grafts rapidly fail due to development of intimal hyperplasia and thrombus formation. Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) hollow fiber (HF) membranes have previously been proposed for this application, but as we show in the present w...

Preparation of antibacterial electrospun Poly lactic-co–glycolic acid nanofibers containing Hypericum Perforatum with bedsore healing property and evaluation of its drug release performance

Skin drug delivery systems with controlled release are suitable means for the local transfer of pharmaceutical compounds to the damaged and healthy layers of skin. Nanofibrous membrane prepares uniform moisture in the wound environment with less accumulation of fluid secretion due to its variable pore size. Electrospinning takes advantage of using herbal extracts in the form of electrospun nano...
